Nonfiction Reading Assessment
In October 2015 the Whole Class Reading Assessment was replaced with locally developed Nonfiction Reading Assessment (NFRA). It is intended for students in grades 4-9. There are three assessments per grade.
The Student Response (written component), administered whole-class, is used by teachers to determine baseline information and then monitor ongoing development of students’ comprehension skills and strategies. The Reading Record (oral component), administered one-on-one, provides additional information about accuracy and fluency.
School District No. 73 teachers should see the NFRA website for more information: sd73nfra.weebly.com
